Argentium is a brand of tarnish resistant sterling silver. Sterling silver contains 92.5% sterling silver and 7.5% copper or nickel. Germanium replaces the 7.5% and creates a tarnish resistant Sterling silver that eliminates fire scale with hot work of the metal. It is more expensive than regular sterling silver. It is harder and brighter and is considered the “Platinum” of Sterling Silver.
